Sony’s 1000X line has defined premium noise cancellation for a decade, and “The ColleXion” is the company’s celebratory flagship — a more luxurious take on the formula that made the 1000XM6 a bestseller.
Premium Materials, Familiar Sound
The most obvious upgrade is the build: soft vegan leather, metal accents and a more refined finish that justifies the flagship positioning. Sonically, expect Sony’s signature rich, slightly warm tuning with deep, controlled bass and customisable EQ through the app.
Noise Cancellation Remains Class-Leading
This is where the 1000X series earns its reputation. The ColleXion’s ANC is excellent at cancelling the low rumble of flights, trains and traffic, with adaptive modes that adjust to your environment automatically. For frequent travellers, it’s still among the best you can buy.
Comfort and Battery
Long-wear comfort is strong thanks to the lighter clamp and plush earcups, and battery life comfortably covers long-haul journeys. Quick charging tops up hours of playback in minutes.
Should You Upgrade?
If you already own the 1000XM6, the ColleXion is a luxury refinement rather than a leap — buy it for the materials, not a sound revolution. If you’re coming from older or cheaper headphones, it’s a superb, if pricey, upgrade.
